A more vivid blue/purple to the taller v.bonariensis and more compact growing habit. This variety can be grown in pots on a patio.

A herbaceous perennial with erect, sparsely-leafed stems and numerous branched clusters of small, vivid purple flowers. Perfect for middle of the border for intense colour (or in containers).

Flowers continuously from June until the frosts in late autumn.

A wonderful butterfly plant but also loved by bees and other pollinators. Seed heads can be left for the birds, until new growth emerges the following spring.

Great for cutting.
